AnnieMay,
I've received all 3 of your messages. You are getting through.

The list has just been uncharacteristically quiet the last few days.
Don't dispair, we're here.

Do you have a question, or perhaps an introductory post for yourself?

Roger, T2, etc... [latest HbA1c 5.9%]
Diagnosed April 1998
At diagnosis, Fasting bg 350mg/dl & HbA1c 15.5%
HbA1c since 3 months after discovering Dr Bernstein in mid-98, 5.2%-6.0
No complications

did not get my own mail back & I am not subscribed thru the website so
ould the moderator check to see if I am bouncing?

subed through their website I cannot go & see or do anything about it.
I hope the moderator can fix it.

anniemay,
have you looked in your SPAM folder.
It could be that your SPAM filter is redirecting the diabetes_int messages there instead of your NEW MAIL folder.
Just a thought.

Uncharacteristic is right. I've been on this list for 10+ years and I
used to post my newby letter at least once a week and often more.

But apparently we aren't getting any newbies because it's been weeks
since I posted it. I find this hard to believe, and I think maybe it's
because the list has been so quiet that we don't have any newbies.

We need to have some kind of dialogue going to that when newbies come,
they have something to read that encourages them to post questions. We
could randomly pick a topic and start a thread.

Generally, a topic that starts a flurry is the value of eating a lower
carb diet as a way to control BGs. Or maybe a post about getting your
diabetes diagnosis?

Vicki,
I'm wondering if the quietness of the list has anything to do with the news about Ron?
I know that I've been feeling down and maybe others are too, so just don't feel like posting.

I've got to get to the lab and be tested for "the usual" to satisfy my Dr. She fusses about cholesterol and wants to up my dose of Lovastatin, but we'll see. BTW, "I chose" Lovastatin, one of the oldest statins, to get her off my back and it is one of the older/milder ones with a long track record, but also because it's "cheap"! No side-effects from that.

I'm taking the max dose of Metformin (3 x 850mg/day) also because it's cheap and no side-effects there either.

And, most importantly I'm "controlling" my carb intake as I have now for over 11 years as the primary means of bg control.
I did find out at my last Drs appointment that my meter was running about 20mg/dl high, but could that have something to do with using strips that are about 2 years past their expiration???!!! In the past I've found strips a year out-of-date still worked OK, but not these "really old" ones!
Well, enough rambling for now. Maybe that'll stir up some dialog.
Roger, T2, etc...

People:
well yes I understand that my mail got thru to the list members but the
problem was that "I" was not receiving my own mail to the list back
again. I have resubbed by mail & altho the problem seems to have
resolved itself with that resub, I never did get any of my own mail sent
earlier nor did I get anything from the last 2 days.
Thanks again.
