From "Health Central" via David Mendosa's "Update" newsletter---

See the Health Central article at:

http://www.healthcentral.com/diabetes/c/17/98799/limiting-test-strips/pf/

There are two new Canadian Studies that would have health insurance stop paying for blood glucose testing strips for diabetics unless they are using insulin or one of the "sulfonylurea-class" oral meds.

This would, of course make the health insurance companies happy right up until their cohorts had to pay for more complications inflicted!

It would put a large crimp in the profits of the manufacturers however, because who among us can pay the ridiculous retail price for strips??

Of course, there might be a better justification for testing if we were told by our medical teams to do more with our test-results than to just bring them to show our Drs at periodic visits! Who among us was told by anyone on their medical team to test the foods eaten by before & after meal testing? Darn few!

Enough fussing for now. Need more coffee!
Roger, T2, etc...
